BRUNEIHALALFOODS launched its range of Mama’s Recipe Blueshrimp Crackers at Utama Grand, The Mall yesterday.
The product launch, which attracted hundreds of consumers, saw the handover of Blue Shrimp Crackers from Ghanim International Corporation, represented by its CEO, Dr Nur Rahman, to Jasra Harrisons, represented by Pengiran Haji Ahmad bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, the appointed bruneihalalfoods distributor for ambient products.
The crackers, available in three flavours – Original, Chilli and Chinese Celery, are produced in partnership with a manufacturer in Brunei.
The bruneihalalfoods Blue Shrimp Crackers began exports to China in 2017 and today receives numerous enquiries from potential customers from other international markets including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia.
The crackers are a fresh take on a traditional Bruneian snack and are made from a recipe handed down through generations with fresh organic blue shrimp ‘Penaeus Stylirostis’, a unique species expertly grown in Brunei Darussalam.
“Mama’s Recipe Blue Shrimp Crackers are among our most popular exports and due to popular demand, we decided to offer the product to local consumers in time for the Chinese New Year celebration to enjoy and present as gifts,” said Dr Nur Rahman. “The launch will be the beginning for bruneihalalfoods to introduce and explore the potential of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) beyond Brunei and become the major player among the global halal producers.”
