Brunei inks MoU with Japan on healthcare services

BRUNEI Darussalam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in healthcare yesterday at the third Health Ministers’ Patients Safety Summit in Tokyo, Japan.

Signing on behalf of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was the Minister of Health Dato Paduka Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Jaafar while Japan was represented by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, Katsunobu Kato.

The MoU covered the development of human resource by providing training in healthcare services; exchange and sharing of information and experience on the basis and healthcare system; introduction to the latest treatment in the medical and pharmaceutical fields; and medical tools and exchange of information on its regulations and other matters of mutual agreement.

Also present were Kamilah binti Haji Mohd Hanifah, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Japan and Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the Ministry of Health.
