AS PART of Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) efforts to strengthen its Neighbourhood Watch programme, more meetings were held with village heads.

According to RBPF, three personnel from its Muara Police Station yesterday paid a visit to RPN Kampong Mentiri II Village Head Pengiran Haji Ibrahim bin Pengiran Haji Hidup. The meeting focussed on planning for Neighbourhood Watch activities this year.

Meanwhile, the Central Police Station continued its series of visits to Kampong Mata-Mata Village Head Haji Metali bin Haji Kamis. Crime and traffic offence statistics were shared with the village head, along with Neighbourhood Watch activities for the year.

In the Tutong District, separate meetings were held with Kampong Birau/Luagan Timbaran Village Head Haji Burhanuddin bin Haji Hashim; as well as Haji Morni bin Jumat and Kalong Ibrahim bin Ismail, who are members of Neighbourhood Watch groups in Kampong Bukit Beruang.

The latest crime statistics and advice were shared.

The Neighbourhood Watch programme is an effort by the RBPF to forge closer ties with grassroots level leaders by expanding cooperation to combat criminal activities through routine operations and village surveillance programmes.
