LAND Transport Department (JPD) Enforcement Division officers recently issued 23 compound fines on seven company drivers during operations at Jalan Perusahaan Serasa, Jalan Kuala Lurah and Jalan Beribi.
The seven drivers are Mohammad Rehan of Syarikat H Allied Service Darussalam; Supriyanto of DSHA Trading; Saiful Efendi of Haji Zaini MZ Transportations; Padirian of BWin Forwarding & Trading Company; Michel Tadam of Syarikat Ampuan Haji Salleh Ampuan Haji Judah dan Anak-Anak; and Sugiyana and Jiang Lim of HEC Company.
These companies were found to have violated the road traffic rules with offences that included carrying heavier/dangerous cargo; lacking a vehicle licence; driving with an invalid driver’s licence; lacking vehicle qualification certificate for heavy vehicles; tyres in poor condition; a non-functioning back lamp.
Meanwhile, in another operation at the Jerudong-Muara Highway, Hassanal Bolkiah Highway and Jalan Perusahaan Serasa, JPD found there were heavy vehicles that did not comply with the road traffic rules.
Twenty-four compound fines were issued to 19 heavy vehicle drivers from 13 companies, namely, Sehajpal Singh of Syarikat Dyg Damit dan Rakan-Rakan; Sujuko Lelono, Sukirno, Erik Kurniawan, Heri Sumitro, Suryana and Yanto Sumaryana of Syarikat Haji Zaini Haji Md Zain; Agus Malim of Haji Zaini HZ Transport; Wardaka of Tien Teng Forwarding; Anasyusuf of Syarikat Ampuan Salleh Ampuan Haji Judah; Aftab Alam Abbas Ali of PEDS Company Sdn Bhd; Rolando Delo Reyes of Syarikat Pemunggahan Haji Buang & Anak-Anak; Iwan Suseno of Soon Lee Heavy Machinery Sdn Bhd; Deny Nuraini of HCO Transportation Services; Badroni Zait and Ikhwani of FT Kong Co Sdn Bhd; Sarfarazad Ahmad of Ocean Quarry and Constructions; Onggie of DSHA Trading Company; and Rowell Taipan Balbaloso of Ready Mix Concrete Sdn Bhd.
Their offences included overloading and dropped loads, carrying no vehicle qualification certificates for heavy vehicles, vehicles being in poor condition, bald tyres, lacking vehicle identification marks, and carrying dangerous cargo.
These vehicles were taken to the JPD Headquarters for further examination.
Warnings have also been given to the offending companies. Repeating the offences will result in action being taken in the form of suspending/revoking driving licences, vehicle licences and company permits.
Employers and owners of transportation companies are reminded to abide by the Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
JPD will continue to intensify operations aimed at improving road safety.
