SAMITIVEJ Hospital executives, courtesy of Grace Travel Agency, paid a courtesy visit to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam in Kampong Bengkurong and Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei’s Autism Centre for Adults (BACA) in Sungai Hanching and SMARTER Brunei’s Early Development Growth and Enabling (EDGE) Centre in Kampong Mata-Mata.
The visit was led by Manager of Grace Travel Agency Kelvin Goh.
The agency has acted as Samitivej Hospital’s local representative, to promote hospital services in fields of patient referral, providing information and assisting in any logistical matters in Brunei Darussalam, especially for special needs children, since September 2017.
Samitivej Hospital, part of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) is a privately owned hospital in Thailand, and its children’s hospital is the leading provider of paediatric care in the country.
The hospital offers individually designed programmes to assess and diagnose learning disabilities and behavioural disorders through its Special Needs Child Centre.
Its other services include specialised positive-pressure rooms to protect young patients from infection, and the Allergy and Asthma Centre is the first of its kind to receive a Clinical Care Programme Certification in childhood asthma care.
Both the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) chose Samitivej as the recipient of the Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital Award.
“Grace Travel Agency looks forward to maintaining this relationship on medical opportunities with Samitivej Hospital. Being the Samitivej Hospital Executive Service Provider is another step in building bridges between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand. We will do our utmost to establish the combination of local knowledge and expertise with the hospital’s medical expertise and service-oriented culture,” said Kelvin Goh.
