A DOA Kesyukuran ceremony was held to mark the seventh National Family Day at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait.
Present as the guests of honour were Minister of Health Dato Paduka Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Jaafar accompanied by his spouse and Minister of Education Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman with his spouse.
Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang YB Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin and several heads of departments in the Belait District were also present.
The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer, Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Akup bin Haji Lamat.
The Sunnat Hajat prayer and reading of Surah Yaasiin were led by Awang Akup followed by the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran Surah Yaasiin led by Mosque Affairs Officer of the Belait District Haji Haslan bin Haji Shahbudin.
The ceremony concluded with a mass Isyak prayer led by Imam Haji Alias bin Bakar and Haji Haslan.
Meanwhile, a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was also held at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Kampong Mentiri yesterday.
Present at the event were Minister of Communications, Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar.
Several high-ranking government officials, officers and personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces were also present.
The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayers led by Imam of Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Haji Shamsul bin Haji Abdul Latif followed by Sunnat Hajat prayer.
Mosque Affairs Officer of the Brunei-Muara District Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Yassin led the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and reading of Doa.
The ceremony concluded with mass Isyak prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer of the Brunei-Muara District Mohd Amin bin Haji Salim.
The ceremonies were aimed at invoking the blessings from Allah the Almighty to strengthen the welfare of the family institution in Brunei Darussalam.
The National Family Day 2018 Celebration, themed ‘My Loving Family, Glorious Country’, will be held on May 6.
