THE Ministry of Communications (MinCom) and departments under it yesterday organised a Tedarus ceremony along with a donation handover for fire victims at the Surau of the Brunei International Airport, Berakas.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and Acting Minister of Communications Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong was present.
Permanent Secretary at the MinCom Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad; Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MinCom Dr Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi; heads of departments, directors of sections, senior officers, officers and staff members at the ministry and departments under it were present.
The event began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and the recitation of the verses from Al-Quran.
The event also saw handover of donations from the Department of Civil Aviation of the MinCom to two fire victims by the Acting Minister.
The event was part of the activities of the Ihya’ Ramadhan Programme, which is held throughout Ramadhan with the aim of enlivening the holy month through the recitation of Al-Quran.
The event concluded with the breaking of the fast and a mass Maghrib prayer.
