THE Cooperative Limited Company of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (KOWIRA) held its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Pahlawan Hall of Berakas Garrison yesterday.
The event was attended by members of the Board of Directors of KOWIRA and chaired by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud as Chairman of the KOWIRA Board of Directors.
Also present were shareholders including former commanders, high-ranking officers and serving and retired personnel of the RBAF.
According to a press statement, the aim of the meeting was to highlight the performance and achievement of KOWIRA for the 2017 business year and to inform shareholders of the percentage of dividend distribution for the business year.
The chairman informed that while 2017 was a challenging year, KOWIRA still managed to maintain a minimum dividend return of four per cent because of its strong financial position.
For the 2017 business year, the agreed dividend distribution is eight per cent. With that, since its establishment, the dividend distribution percentage has reached 123 per cent.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks by the chairman, in which he announced the appointment of new board members, namely, Colonel Haji Damit bin Haji Bakar, Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces and Lieutenant Colonel (U) Rahman @ Abdul Rahman bin Haji Durahman, Acting Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force.
