A BALIK Kampong Roadblock Joint Operation was organised recently by the Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) in four districts simultaneously in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
The operation involved District Police and law enforcement agencies including the Land Transport Department (JPD), the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD), officers from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) as well as the Religious Enforcement Section (RES).
In Brunei-Muara District, the operations were carried out in Kuala Lurah and the area around Muara-Tutong Highway.
The operations were led by Acting Head of the Operation and Enforcement Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Hamri Aslan bin Haji Abu Hanafiah, the Head of Enforcement Unit Deputy Superintendent of Police Pengiran Omar Ali bin Pengiran Haji Manshor from the JSKLL; and Brunei-Muara District Traffic Investigation Officer, Deputy Superintendent Suziyanti binti Haji Ahmad.
In the Tutong District, the operations were conducted in Jalan Kupang near the Police KM28 Post, and in the area of the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel Mosque in Kampong Kiudang, led by Assistant Officer-in-Charge of the Tutong Police Station Inspector Ahmad Faez bin Haji Mohd Hani; and Officer-in-Charge of the Lamunin Police Station Inspector Muhd Zulfadli bin Haji Yusof.
Meanwhile, in the Belait District, the Assistant Investigation and Traffic Officer of the Belait Police District Chief Inspector Rosli bin Haji Tuming held the operation in the area of the Sungai Tujuh Container Depot, the Ports Department, Kuala Belait.
In the Temburong District, the operation was handled by the RBPF and law enforcement agencies in the area of the Ujong Jalan Control and Inspection Post Complex, Temburong, led by Acting Officer-in-Charge of the Bangar Police Station, Inspector Alif Nur Khaliq bin Haji Mat Rasil.
The operation involved 182 officers and personnel from all agencies and found 59 compound offences produced by the RBPF, seven offence cases under the RCED Act, 10 offence cases under the JPD Act, one offence case under the NCB Act, and one case under the RES Act.
The main objective of the operation was to carry out the duties and responsibilities in ensuring the laws are adhered to achieve the goal of curbing, tracking and resolving criminal activities on roads and traffic offences.
The other aims of the operation were to increase community discipline on legislation, to reduce traffic accidents, and to increase public confidence in the traffic laws in establishing the security amd safety for road users.
The RBPF advised the public to remain vigilant and comply to traffic laws to avoid legal proceedings.
