THE Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) recently held a two-day nationwide Kesyukuran ceremony in celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 72nd birthday.
In the Belait District, the ceremony was held at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque on July 26.
Legislative Council member and Kampong Labi I Village Head Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput attended the event alongside PTA Cluster 6 committee members, as well as parents and students of schools and education institutions in the Belait District.
Organised by the PTA Cluster 6 of the Belait District, the ceremony aimed at fostering an appreciation for His Majesty’s continuous care and attention towards his subjects’ welfare – particularly in education – as well as serve as an opportunity to enhance relations between the PTA committee members, parents and students from the district.
The ceremony began with the mass Maghrib prayer led by Imam Akup bin Haji Lamat, the Imam of Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, who also led the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran, before concluding with mass Isyak prayer.
The ceremony was also held in other districts on July 27. In the Brunei-Muara District, PTA Cluster 1-4 held the ceremony at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, while for Tutong, Cluster 5 conducted the prayers at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque.
Meanwhile, for the Temburong District, the ceremony was held at Utama Mohd Salleh Mosque by the PTA Cluster 1.
