THE Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) arranged various religious activities each year in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan.
The Al-Quran reading or ‘Tedarus’ group comprising members from the ministry and departments under it visited the four districts as part of the religious working visits. This year, it was held at Kampong Batu Apoi Mosque in Temburong.
The Tedarus for Mukim and Village Consultative Councils for the Temburong District was held yesterday in the presence of the guest of honour Haji Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Also present were YB Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Ahad, Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kg Belingos, Mukim Bangar; Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Acting Temburong District Officer, heads of departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs, village heads, members of the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils in Temburong and residents at the surrounding villages.
The event began with a mass Zohor prayer and later Tedarus led by Haji Shamsudin bin Haji Azahari, the Imam of Kampong Batu Apoi Mosque.
It then continued with the presentation of charitable dona-tions to orphans in Mukim Batu Apoi and endowment by the guest of honour.
