FUN games and activities await the public at the financial showcase organised by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) in collaboration with Employees Trust Fund (TAP) at The Mall, Gadong.
The event began yesterday and continues until today.
Officiating at yesterday’s ceremony was Managing Director of AMDB Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
The managing director presented tokens of appreciation to six institutions for their participation in the National Savings Day 2018.
The participating institutions were Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Cadet Brass Band, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Cadet Brass Band, the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTET), Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA), and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAHS).
The guest of honour also toured the exhibition booths and launched ‘BIBD Aspirasi’, a unique flexible savings scheme from Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) to help inculcate a savings culture with prudent money management.
The event, held for the second consecutive year, is organised in conjunction with National Savings Day, celebrated every May 28 in Brunei Darussalam. This year’s National Savings Day is themed ‘Financially Literate Generation’.
This year’s showcase includes a variety of programmes and events including Teka & Menang, Troli Bajet, Financial Hunt, Money Personality and Learning How to Budget, Financial Crossword Puzzle and Budget Game. Among the highlights is a performance by BruHaHa Comedy in the evening.
The financial showcase provides an opportunity for consumers to compare financial products under one roof and to conduct financial health checks. Participating in this year’s financial showcase are BIBD, Baiduri Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Takaful Brunei Keluarga (TBK), Great Eastern Life Assurance, TAP, Financial Planning Association of Brunei Darussalam (FPAB), and Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM).
Ministry of Health officials will also share information on mental health.
