RECIPIENTS of state honorary medals at the Investiture Ceremony held at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday conveyed their appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for recognising their hard work and pledged to continue serving the country with loyalty and dedication towards its progress.
Among these honourees was Acting Director of Curriculum Development at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Muhammad Yusuf, who was conferred with the Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei, Third Class (SMB).
“I thank His Majesty sincerely for this recognition. What’s important while executing one’s duties as a civil servant are sincerity, dedication, loyalty and commitment. We must also work on enhancing our productivity levels for the good of the country’s development on the whole,” said Haji Zulkifli said, adding that the conferment yesterday was one of the biggest highlights in his 28-year career as a civil servant.
He continued, “I would like to advise my fellow civil servants to continue working hard and stay committed and loyal while serving the country, and always strive for excellence.”
Also conveying his appreciation to His Majesty for bestowing upon him a state decoration, the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, Fourth Class (PSB), was Chief Executive Officer of Serikandi Group of Companies Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad.
“I would like to say thank you to His Majesty for this conferment. I hope this will be a boost to the morale of the business community in the country to continue contributing towards national development and making sacrifices for the good of the nation as a whole,” he said.
Shaikh Haji Khalid added that the recent titah made by His Majesty in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations embodied the significance of making sacrifices for the country.
“As a citizen, we must always be prepared to make sacrifices for the country with our time, energy and wealth, while also sacrificing for the hereafter by upholding our Islamic faith and obeying the orders of Allah the Almighty,” he said.
Another grateful medal recipient was Chief Executive Officer of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Saidah binti Haji Wahid, who was bestowed with the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, Fourth Class (PSB).
“I’m so happy to have been honoured with this decoration. I’d like to thank His Majesty so much for this. This recognition will serve as a motivation for me to continue delivering my best for the government and the country as a whole,” she said.
For Director of Pharmaceutical Services at the Ministry of Health Rosni binti Jair, being one of the state honour recipients – the Most Honourable Order of Setia Negara Brunei, Third Class (SMB) in her case – was a very humbling experience.
“This state decoration will motivate me further to increase my professional commitment as a civil servant,” she said.
“This will definitely inspire me to work harder towards excellence and I, together with my colleagues, will try our best to continue delivering the best healthcare in the country, especially with regard to the supply of medicinal products, in ensuring medicines coming into the country are of good quality, safe and effective to protect public health and the well-being of the people of Brunei Darussalam.”
