YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (SHHB) made a charity project visit for the month of Ramadhan to the Temburong District, yesterday.
The Yayasan delegation first presented donations totalling $7,200 to two families whose houses were razed to the ground in a blaze on June 14 in Kampong Sungai Tanit, Temburong.
The fire victims who received donations were Hamdan bin Aliasgar and Mohammad Zefeandi Arshad bin Zefry. The donations were presented by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education in his capacity as the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors, who led the charity project visit.
The visit continued with the distribution of donations totalling to $27,560 to 28 needy families from several villages in the Temburong District.
This contribution is in the form of money, daily necessities, medical special equipment for senior citizens and also assistance to refurbish old citizens’ homes.
They have been identified following a survey that was conducted previously by Yayasan in collaboration with the Temburong District Office.
The charity project aims to assist families in need by providing the basic necessities and fulfilling their needs during Ramadhan and the Hari Raya season.
The project yesterday was conducted in cooperation with strategic partners of Yayasan, namely the Four-Wheel Drive Association (4WD) of Brunei Darussalam in providing transportation.
The establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah as a charity platform of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of the royal family, is a sign of caring and love of the ruler to his subjects in addition to the establishment of prosperous and affluent community in Brunei Darussalam.
