Civil servants reminded to provide quality service

CIVIL servants should be disciplined, have high integrity, always abide by rules and regulations, and be capable of providing a high quality service and management to ensure the government’s administrative efficiency.

This was stated by Acting Director-General of Public Service Dr Norfarizal bin Othman during the 3rd Public Service Department (JPA) Roadshow at the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex yesterday.

Also present were Tutong District Officer Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, directors and heads of government departments, senior officers, officers and staff members.

The roadshow began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a welcoming speech by the Acting Director-General of Public Service.

Dr Norfarizal explained that the roadshow was a platform to share and discuss matters encompassing the General Orders, 1961 and service regulations. He said this effort would strengthen the solidarity and harmony between the JPA and government agencies in Tutong District.

He said civil servants must always stive to improve their quality of service and always think ahead.

He urged them to strengthen their “sense of belonging”, spirit of teamwork, as well as to increase the quality and productivity of service of the department towards achieving the aspiration of the Brunei Vision 2035.

A dialogue session between JPA and officers and staff of public services in Tutong District, and exhibitions were among the highlights of the roadshow.

Several briefings were also held related to the ethics and counselling. This roadshow provided an opportunity for the public service employees in Tutong District to discuss with JPA officers on the understanding of the General Orders, service orders and matters related to management in public service, in-service training (LDP), and Government Employee Management System (GEMS).
