AMBASSADOR of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari met Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad and Ustazah Nurul Azimah binti Abdul Hamid, a representative from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei Darussalam.
The meeting was also attended by recipients of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman scholarship comprising four students from UNISSA and two students from KUPU SB.
Two UNISSA and two KUPU SB students will be studying Arabic Language at the Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers for eight weeks from September 9 until November 1.
Whereas, the other two UNISSA students will be studying Arabic Language for one academic year at Sultan Qaboos University, starting September 2018. The ambassador congratulated the students for being selected to study Arabic Language in Oman and wished them well in their studies.
The ambassador also expressed his satisfaction with the encouraging feedback of success the Oman Embassy received from these students and their teachers.
Meanwhile, Dr Sarah and Ustazah Nurul Azimah praised the participation of their students in the Arabic Language extensive courses in Oman, saying that it played a notable part in improving the students’ language skills in Arabic, owing to Oman’s unique environment that encourages and promotes learning of Arabic Language, in addition to the excellent reputation enjoyed by Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers as well as the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, of Sultan Qaboos University.
The students also expressed their utmost appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to study Arabic Language in Oman, and pledged to make their due contribution to Brunei-Oman friendship.
