THE Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) organised a religious talk to celebrate the new Islamic year of 1440 Hijrah and to reflect on the history of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions, at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
The guest of honour was Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
Also present were the Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, MinDef’s permanent secretaries, service commanders, deputy permanent secretaries, senior officers, and personnel at the MinDef and RBAF.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Ar-Rahman, followed by a religious talk titled Hijrah Dalam Kepimpinan delivered by the Acting Head of the Religious Department of RBAF Major Ariffin bin Amit who highlighted the core leadership values that a leader should embody to facilitate a cooperative environment in an organisation.
The event was hoped to strengthen the friendship among members of the MinDef and RBAF.
The event was also attended by guests from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Fire and Rescue Department.
Also present was Director of the National Disaster Management Centre and Acting Director of Fire and Rescue Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said.
