GRADUATES attending the Post-Graduate Civic Village Programme 2018 were urged not to be shy and to try their skills.
“Do not be shy when doing a good job. We should be ashamed only if we do something disrespectful like stealing,” said Senior Special Duties Officer at the Secretariat Office of the Malay Islamic Monarchy Supreme Council Dr Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong in his talk ‘Malay Islamic Monarchy’ at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex yesterday.
He reminded the graduates not to be choosy and to not just wait for job opportunities in the government sector. He said they should try their hand on becoming entrepreneurs.
Some 50 graduates attended the programme, the third day of the second session this year. The first session was held last April.
The second talk was on Hukuman Syariah from the Islamic Legal Unit, Ministry of Religious Affairs. In the afternoon the graduates visited the Paddy Planting area in Kampong Wasan.
The Civic Village Programme is a project implemented through the department’s ‘Face to Face Communication’ work strategy, in line with the Information Department’s vision as one of the leading government agencies in delivering and disseminating official government information. The programme also serves as a platform to equip participants with competitiveness ability to face challenges and seize job opportunities.
The talk and visit is also one of the platforms to equip the participants to face various future challenges and prepare themselves as a generation with vision, quality, high-skill and dedication without hoping for other help to achieve Brunei Vision 2035.
The participants joined the Civil Village Programme for six days and five nights at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex Hall and had the opportunity to take part in various sessions including briefing and dialogue sessions, group brainstorming sessions, teamwork activities, sports and leisure, religious activities, charity and visits.
