The event was also attended by representatives from various agencies such as Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), JobCentre Brunei, Youth Development Centre, and the private sector.

The newly established Coordination Unit will act as an information provider for MKM clients on job opportunities and training programmes available in the country.

Members will take an operational role to reach out to the proper agencies or programmes.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a briefing by MKM Deputy President 1 Hajah Juhana binti Haji Md Jaya.

This was followed by an introduction regarding the roles and functions of the Coordination Unit by 26th Executive Development Programme for the Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) 2018 member Haji Shamshul Bharine bin Haji Sabtu.

The launching ceremony also included the opening of the new page of the Coordination Unit under the MKM’s website (www.mkmbrunei.com) containing information on jobs, skill trainings and grants offered to MKM members to assist their clients.

This was followed by the handing over of the Coordination Unit from Group 4 of the 26th EDPMMO 2018 to MKM.

The event also saw exhibitions by JobCentre Brunei, Youth Development Centre and MKM providing interaction between the relevant agencies to get a better understanding of each individual’s scope and services.

The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen relations between MKM and the relevant agencies.

The proposal for the setting up of the Coordination Unit within MKM came about as part of the Community Outreach Activity (COA) module of the 26th EDPMMO conducted by the Public Service Department with the cooperation of UTB.

Members of the public or agencies interested in assisting the underprivileged are welcome to participate by contacting MKM’s Coordination Unit.
