MALAYSIAN Citizens Association (PWM) will test their grit against Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) in the final of the PTK Cup for the Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS) Alumni Badminton at the 7th Floor of The Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong today.
PWM beat PKMS 2-1 (21-19,23-21) (17-21,16-21) (21-14,21-16) in the semi-final, while BBA beat CHMS Alumni ‘A’ 2-1 (14-21,21-17,8-21) (21-13,18-21,21-14) (24-22,21-12). PKMS faced CHMS Alumni ‘A’ in the third-place playoff.
In the Kingston Cup, Westlake Tyres will meet Victor in the first semi-final match, while X98 will face Tanjung BC in second semi-final.
Westlake Tyres beat Mata-Mata ‘B’ 2-0 (21-11,21-15) (21-12,21-9) and Tanjung BC beat Legends 107 2-1 (14-21,19-21) (21-17,21,10) (21-14,17-21,21-18) in the quarter-finals.
X98 overpowered Mata-Mata ‘A’ 2-0 (23-21,19-21,21-18) (21-18,21-11) in the third quarter-final, while Victor won over OSG ‘A’ 2-0 (21-06,21-12) (14-21,21-17,21-12).
