HER Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam yesterday graced the Berbedak ceremony of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz bin Pengiran Sura Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Bey Muntassir, the son of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah.
The ceremony was one of the events held in the run up to the wedding of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz to Dayangku Nur Izzati binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Wahab this Sunday.
Greeting Her Majesty on arrival at Baitul Athirah in Kampong Beribi was Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah.
Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Nasibah and other members of the royal family.
The ceremony at the Baitul Athirah Hall was carried out in steep royal tradition, which began with four Awang-Awang lighting the Dian Empat and later, two Awang-Awang entering the hall bringing in the royal regalia Kasur Namat.
The entrance of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz was accompanied by his brother, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Razaaq bin Pengiran Sura Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Bey Muntassir, and led by the Dian Tunggal carried by Awang-Awang followed by other royal regalias.
As the Dikir Syarafil Anam was recited, Her Majesty began the ceremonial menculiki bedak on Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz to mark the start of the Berbedak ceremony, followed by other members of the royal family and family members of Dayangku Nur Izzati. Her Majesty later received a Junjung Ziarah from Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz.
To bless the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
The ceremony proceeded with Dayangku Nur Izzati taking the seat for the ritual. Her entrance to the hall was accompanied by two family members.
As the Dikir Syarafil Anam was recited, Her Majesty began the ceremonial menculiki bedak on Dayangku Nur Izzati to mark the start of the Berbedak ceremony, followed by other members of the royal family and also her family members.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim.
Her Majesty received a Junjung Ziarah from Dayangku Nur Izzati. Also present at the ceremony yesterday were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, and senior government officials.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz is the third child of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah.
