THE ‘Multimedia Theatre and Poetry Workshop’ was held yesterday with Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahim attending as the guest of honour.
The event was co-organised by Rumah Seni Asnur from Depok, Jakarta and the Akademi Ustaz Firdaus to produce an Art Education Tourism Industry in literature and culture.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by opening poetry recitations by participants.
Speeches were delivered by Rumah Seni Asnur owner Asrizal Nur and the guest of honour.
The event aimed to guide participants in writing, creating and reciting poetry; generate efforts towards upholding Malay literature particularly with poetry as a Dakwah and Tarbiah platform for literary enthusiasts; to produce a generation of young writers; and to integrate current and future writers in ASEAN.
It also hopes to support preserving the eco-edu-tourism industry with art, culture, writing and publishing as a niche.
Asrizal has trained 35 locals who are members of the Akademi Ustaz Firdaus participating in yesterday’s Theatrical Performance of Islamic Poetry Multimedia Membaca Raga.
They are made up of children, teenagers, youth, adults and senior citizens, who have been practicing since November 25 to 30. A total of 65 Indonesia participants also took part in the workshop.
