THE ‘Happy Family Conference 2019’ concluded with a resolution handover ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Berakas, yesterday.
Guest of honour Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin received the resolution from President of the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (BDCW) Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohd Yusof.
Presented by Co-Chairman of the event’s committee Dr Hajah Hairuni binti Haji Mohamed Ali Maricar, the resolution incorporates new proposals and adopted resolutions spanning seven themes including in education, law and enforcement, services, finance, health, observation and research. The resolution also provided a support system that extends across family counselling, religious instructions and support groups by both government and non-government organisations.
With the theme ‘Peaceful and Prosperous Country’, the conference was organised by the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW), in collaboration with the BDCW.
More than 300 participants comprising members of the public, officers and staff members from the government and private sectors, students from various higher educational institutions and secondary schools from across the country were also present.
The conference aimed to identify characteris-tics of ‘happy family’, instil knowledge and sense of responsibilities, and raise awareness on the importance of reinforcing self-identity.
