CENDANA by Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd hosted a high tea get-together with the local business community yesterday, in an event that also saw the launch of the e-business system’s latest free upgrade – Cendana Accounting Plus.
Permanent Secretary (Policy and Fiscal) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) cum Chairperson of the Brunei Darussalam Accounting Standards Council (BDASC) Norliah binti Haji Kula was the guest of honour.
Other guests included local business leaders, BDASC members and 50 Cendana client representatives.
Chief Executive Officer of Dynamik Technologies Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib with the Dynamik Technologies management team and the Cendana sales and support team welcomed the guests.
Cendana Lead Dayangku Siti Farhanna binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Pura said, “Cendana is more than just a software system or product; we are a growing community of businesses and entrepreneurs enabled with technology. This event is the first since our inception in 2016 to celebrate and strengthen our relationship with each other in the dynamic Cendana community, in line with our Vision 2035 aspirations.
“We have been proud to have supported the Brunei Vision 2035 nation-wide initiatives in the development of local businesses and entrepreneurs, especially youth and women, through the Cendana platform.”
“We have enjoyed interactions with the business community in various industries. We see our clients as partners. Together we share and exchange our skills and experiences to bring out the best in each other. Through technology, we as a community are driving, influencing and impacting positive change,” she said.
“For almost three years, we are encouraged by the growth of Cendana users, starting from only 14 users in 2016 to 55 users in 2017 and now, 163 users.
“We have gradually but surely gained more traction among local businesses. Cendana has even replaced several established brands in cloud-based systems in finance, HR, inventory and others. This can only be achieved due to the opportunities and support from all of you here and more. And for that, I say thank you for being part of the Cendana community,” she said.
The guest of honour officiated the launch of Cendana Accounting Plus, a guided system to encourage businesses in Brunei to comply with and adopt Brunei Darussalam Accounting Standards (BDAS) released earlier last year.
Speaking on the Cendana Accounting Plus system, Dayangku Siti Farhanna explained that it is the first local cloud accounting tool in Brunei that fully complies with the BDAS issued in January 2018.
She noted that it is designed with ease of use in mind, equipped with standards-guided entries, step-by- step tear drop guide and a comprehensive help function for the ease of use by business owners, accountants and non-accountants as well as financial institutions.
Online tutorials will also be made available on the Cendana website for users’ easy reference.
“With Cendana Accounting Plus as one of our key offerings, we are excited to support the Brunei Darussalam Accounting Standards Council’s initiatives in promoting higher uniformity and consistency in financial reporting nation-wide, beginning with our community here today,” she added.
Elaborating further on Cendana Accounting Plus in an interview, she affirmed that it makes data entry on accounting easier.
“You just have to enter in all of the different fields, and it will show you automatically where to go in the next step. So that’s the beauty of Cendana Accounting Plus.”
