THE Prisons Department organised a Doa Kesyukuran and Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to commemorate its 65th anniversary on Thursday, at the Ar Rahman Mosque in Tanjung Bunut.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with mass Sunnat Hajat prayer led by Mosque Affairs Officer of Ar Rahman Mosque Mohd Reduan bin Haji Marjuki, followed by Khatam Al-Quran which began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour.
It continued with the reading of Doa Takhtim, Doa Khatam and Doa Kesyukuran led by Imam of Ar Rahman Mosque Asbinin bin Haji Zainal.
Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Acting Director of Prisons Haji Muhammad Isamuddin bin Abdullah Juna, Acting Deputy Director of Prisons Pengiran Haji Omar bin Pengiran Haji Othman and Prisons Department officials also attended.
