BSP, UBD collaborate to realise Brunei Vision 2035

BRUNEI Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) signed a collaboration agreement with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) at Simpur Café at UBD Campus yesterday.

Signing on behalf of BSP was Managing Director Dr Ceri M Powell and on behalf of UBD was Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz.

The collaboration was in response to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah during UBD’s 30th Convocation in August last year on the importance of close relations between higher learning institutions and the industrial sector in the country, particularly in research and knowledge sharing.

The Collaboration Agreement formalises the start of a one-year research project on aspects of the well-being of Bruneians, which will be carried out by the Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) at UBD and commissioned by BSP.

The findings from the research is expected to contribute to Brunei Vision 2035, with the aim to turn Brunei into a nation widely recognised for quality of life at par with the top 10 nations in the world.

Director of CARe Associate Professor Hoon Chang Yau and Social Investment Lead at BSP Haziq bin Abdullah Lim were also present as witness signatories.
