THE Prisons Department is marking its 64th anniversary with a sales and produce fair at the Rimba Point in Tasek Rimba.
The three-day event was officially launched yesterday by Prisons Department Acting Director Haji Muhammad Isamuddin bin Abdullah Juna, who also toured the vendor booths at the venue.
The fair features an assorted display of handicraft, woodwork furniture and agricultural produce from inmates of the rehabilitation programme.
Apart from showcasing the positive impact of vocational and skills training, the project represents the Prisons Department’s ongoing efforts to re-integrate former inmates into the community, while giving their products a public platform.
