“BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) ensures home buyers’ dreams are realised by facilitating their needs every step of the way,” said BIBD Head of Retail Banking Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Md Jaafar.

She made these comments at the launching of the bank’s 14th ‘Home Showcase Festival’ aimed at promoting the benefits of home ownership and providing a one-stop platform for current and prospective homeowners, including young professionals yesterday.

The festival that runs until tomorrow is open between 9am and 7pm.

Guest of honour Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil officiated the event by cutting a ribbon after the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat.

Customers who sign up for financing and credit cards will get discounted rates, waivers on processing fees and free BIBD corporate gifts. Customers who subscribe to BIBD Aspirasi with a minimum of BND1,000 will get a Digital Coin.

BIBD also showcased its QuickPay as part of its efforts to support the de-cashing of the economy with seamless transactions via mobile-led technologies.

Services like QuickPay are part of the BIBD NEXGEN platform that caters towards mobility and convenience. It aims to bridge the digital gap between customers and business owners, particularly budding entrepreneurs.

Customers were able to pay vendors at the event by cashless transactions as most of them use BIBD QuickPay.

Customers can also get a BIBD NEXGEN Foldable Shopping Bag as long as stocks last with a minimum spending of BND10.

The event also served as an avenue for local entrepreneurs and small and medium and enterprises (SMEs) as well as partnering realtors and interior designers to showcase their products and services.

The festival also featured Kenviews, an interior design specialist that normally caters for young professionals who desire unique and contemporary looks for their new homes. The event held at BIBD branch in Kiulap saw the attendance of the bank’s senior management and personnel.
