A COMPREHENSIVE range of products and services, from Brunei and overseas will be showcased under one roof at the Asia Expo 2019 at Hall 1 and Hall 2 of Bridex Hall, Jerudong from November 27 to December 1.
The 230 exhibitors will comprise locals and from ASEAN member countries, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, India and Pakistan among others.
The event will feature 430 exhibition booths, said Cityneon Brunei Managing Director Dato Jack Ting Chai and Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB President Malcom Lim at a press briefing yesterday.
Dato Jack Ting Chai said, “The trade fair will act as a platform to link local and foreign businesses while giving overseas companies an opportunity to explore Brunei’s market. It will also give local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) an opportunity to learn more from their regional counterparts and build business networks. “
He said this event will encourage greater trading activities between participating countries and provide an opportunity for local and international exhibitors to reach their target segment and increase the sales volume.
The expo will also provide business matching sessions for exhibitors and knowledge sharing sessions with successful entrepreneurs while the Trade Zone is an open discussion concept within the exhibition hall through ‘Let’s Grab Coffee’, ‘Country Focus’, product highlights and panel sessions.
Malcom Lim added, “We have held similar expos with cooperation between the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB and Cityneon Brunei seven years ago which had a remarkable response with a large number of visitors and exhibitors participating.”
He said, “It’s a win-win situation for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB and Cityneon Brunei. I hope that this expo, will be even more successful. We also hope this expo will encourage Bruneians to spend within the country as well as promote locally made products and those from participating countries.
“We also hope to boost Brunei’s tourism by introducing detailed information on tourism among participants from foreign countries while they can also promote their own countries. The expo will touch on e-education and franchise education as well as share Brunei’s culture among the foreign participants.”
Malcom Lim said, “We hope to use the platform for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB and Cityneon Brunei to link with the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Brunei International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indian Chamber of Commerce and National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brunei Darussalam to connect everyone.”
He also hoped the expo would be an annual affair.
Organised by Cityneon Brunei, the Asia Expo is approved by the Expo and Trade Division of the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry, and supported by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB.
Executive members of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce BSB and Cityneon Brunei officials were present at the press conference.
