ROCKETEERS led by Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah emerged champion of the President’s Cup Netball Tournament at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas yesterday.
Rocketeers defeated Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) 36-30 in the final match.
Angel Net led by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim clinched third place after defeating Red Butterfly.
Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah was awarded the Best Attacker. Top Scorer went to 21987 Private Nur Ady Elzza Erzrenna binti Sofian from MS ABDB and 21392 Sergeant Nurazimah binti Abdul Latif from MS ABDB was named Best Defender.
In the Under-21 Netball Tournament, WildCats led by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah took the champion’s title, followed by Brunei Darussalam School Sports Council (MSSSBD) and Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE).
Three WildCats players bagged home all individual awards. Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raheemah Sanaul Bolkiah was awarded the Best Scorer; Best Attacker went to Mazarina anak Sujar; while Best Defender was Raiefieza Radimas.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Saidah binti Haji Wahid/Burut presented the prizes. Also present was Vice President of BNA Hajah Rosediana binti Haji Hidup.
