TO ENHANCE village solidarity, the Kg Keriam Village Consultative Council (MPK Keriam) and the Keriam Malay Association (PESAKA) held a get-together ceremony recently at the school hall of Keriam Primary School, Tutong.
Present as guest of honour was Haji Idris bin Haji Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Also present during the evening were Legislative Council member, YB Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Taha bin Abdul Rauf as Penghulu of Mukim Keriam, and Village Head of Kampong Keriam, Haji Morshidi bin Haji Mahadi.
According to the Co-Chairman of the event, Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, the event was held to enliven the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations even though it had passed and to strengthen the solidarity of the villagers and relations between the MPK and residents of Keriam.
The event is held annually as the best platform to further enhance the spirit of friendship and camaraderie among the community, to share experiences and assist other villagers.
The evening also saw the presentation of donations to prospective haj pilgrims who will be performing their haj this year, which was presented by the guest of honour.
The evening was made livelier with the singing of the PESAKA song ‘Indahnya PESAKA’ and Hari Raya Aidilfitri song.
The evening then continued with dance performances and singing performances by members of the PESAKA youth and residents of Kampong Keriam.
