Officers from the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Survey Department at the Ministry of Development (MoD) travelled to Ulu Belait recently to provide assistance to several new Muslim converts among the longhouse communities.
Led by PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh and Assistant PDI Director Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar, the group visited the Julangan Titah Longhouse in Kampong Melilas, the Rumah Besar Sukang and the Penan Longhouse in Kampong Sukang.
During the visit, 25 Qiblat stickers were distributed among the new converts to serve as a guide when performing the obligatory prayers.
The converts also received donations in the form of daily essentials.
Both government agencies plan to conduct similar projects for other Muslim converts in the
Belait District.
