Deputy Chairman of the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA) Cluster Six for 2018-2020 Session Iskandar bin Haji Alias said the motivational programme titled Program Sembang Inspirasi Ibu Bapa serves to support the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) third strategic objective of involving parents, guardians and the community in various programmes to better establish a closer understanding and cooperation.
The motivational programme was held at the hall of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA), Kuala Belait recently.
More than 20 parents and guardians participated in the programme that served as a platform to equip parents and guardians with the knowledge as well as the sharing of skills, experience, and insight on educating children in the modern era.
The programme continued with a series of motivational talks. Among them were a talk by Persatuan PEKA Negara Brunei Darussalam President Diny bin Haji Karim titled Ibu Bapa Cemerlang Anak Terbilang and Ibu Bapa dan Guru Pencetus Kejayaan Insan by National PTA 2019-2022 Session President Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Nawi.
Motivational music performances were also conducted by the Anthony Abell College Music Club led by Chan Mun Yok. The performances included Man Jadda Wa Jadda – Perjuanganku, Insan and Kau Ilhamku.
Parents and guardians also provided feedback based on the knowledge that they had gained and how it has impacted their view on how to properly educate their children at home.
PTA Cluster Six for 2018-2020 session Chairman and Anthony Abell College PTA Chairman Suhaini bin Haji Othman, Head of Students Affairs Department at the Department of Schools Hajah Jeriah binti Haji Duraman, Head of Welfare Unit at the Students Affairs Department Hajah Zaiton binti Haji Damit, Head of Career and Counselling Unit Mohamad Hatta bin Haji Suhaili, Anthony Abell College Principal Mas Diana binti Haji Abdul Samat and SMSA Principal Steven Shim Sheau Huei were also present.
The programme was also held at Anthony Abell College, Seria as the first of two phases, with the second session conducted at SMSA.
