The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held an official launch of two Wawasan Brunei 2035 books for primary and secondary students, as well as four Wawasan Brunei 2035 promotional videos yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, as the Deputy Co-Chairs of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council attended the event.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, together with members of the Legislative Council (LegCo), permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and invited guests were also present.
Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti said, “We have less than 15 years to achieve Brunei Vision 2035. This matter was emphasised in the titah of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, where His Majesty called for Brunei Vision 2035 to be implemented with full commitment and earnestness, rather than serving as mere intellectual rhetoric that sounds good.
“The matter was again highlighted in His Majesty’s titah for the New Year of 2018, which stressed, ‘With each year, we are getting closer to the target for Brunei Vision 2035. With the deadline approaching, the greater our responsibility in ensuring that we advance towards that target until the goal of Brunei Maju is achieved.’ ”

The minister also revealed that in accordance with a sabda by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, who is Chair of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council, a communication programme has been developed to promote public awareness and bolster efforts towards achieving the aims of Brunei Vision 2035.
“Alhamdulillah, several efforts have been carried out, including the preparation of promotional materials, the organisation of public talks and engagement sessions, the production of radio commercials and the establishment of the Brunei Vision 2035 website at www.wawasanbrunei.gov.bn,” said Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti.
“These efforts are intended to foster an understanding and appreciation of Brunei Vision 2035 among all levels of society, while ensuring that everyone comes together in realising the goals of Brunei Vision 2035.”
Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti and Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew officiated the launch of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 books, which were presented to Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin and Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah.
The books were designed for primary and secondary school students, to provide them with better understanding regarding their roles and responsibilities in achieving Brunei Vision 2035.
