With travel restrictions still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local tour operators are enticing locals with an array of attractive staycation packages.
At-Taqwa Travel Tours conducted a jungle trekking trip yesterday to the 7 Telingan Waterfalls in Mukim Rampayoh.
Joined by 10 adventurers, the trip took the group to a local farmland along Jalan Rampayoh Timur before wading their way through dense and muddy jungle trails. They braved natural obstacles such as fallen trees and tested their courage in rock-climbing before arriving at the waterfalls.
Along the trek, the group also saw a variety of jungle treats, from wild-rooted plants to colourful butterflies and critters as well as the Belait 4 well, which was drilled in 1914 and later abandoned.
The whole journey took two hours to complete, including pit-stops at three checkpoints and a swim at the waterfalls.
One of the adventurers found the excursion a mild jungle trail ideal for experienced wanderlusts who enjoy “pristine jungle setting with breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls.”
