Kish Island, located 18 kilometres off the southern coast of Iran, has been declared the fourth tourist destination in Southwest Asia by the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
Covering an area of over 90 kilometres, the island boasts a population of over 20,000 and has a beautiful and unique nature featured at the weekly webinar on Discover Iran recently, hosted by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Brunei Darussalam.
According to a statement, Kish Island, among the most beautiful coral islands in the Persian Gulf, “offers calm beaches with coral sands and clear sea water. The transparency makes it possible to see a variety of aquatic species at a depth of several metres, greenery and freshness of its nature, especially in the seven months of the year when it offers a beautiful and spectacular view that attracts some one million nature lovers”.
Thousands of economic activists and tourists travel to Kish Island through the waterway annually while the geographical location, unique environment, tourist attractions, shopping centres and recreational complexes as well as all the features of a Halal and healthy trip make Kish Island a lively place for tourists and businessmen alike.
Other attractions are Iranian deer that roam freely on the island, the Karting track, Marjan Beach Park and Dolphin Park.
The hosting of the webinar series by the embassy, held every Wednesday between 3.30pm and 5pm, is aimed at introducing and promoting tourist attractions in Iran.
According to the Iranian embassy, the series of webinar is a good opportunity to network with universities and businesses as well as forging educational and economic ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
