The national celebration for the Islamic New Year 1442 Hijrah will start at 5pm tomorrow at mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide with Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong as the focal point of the religious event.
A rehearsal took place yesterday witnessed by Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, in his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Major Islamic Events Celebration for 1442 Hijrah, and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud together with Executive Committee members.
Themed Generasi Berilmu, Beramal dan Berakhlak Memacu Pembangunan Umat the religious event will include recitations of Doa Akhir Tahun 1441 Hijrah and Doa Awal Tahun 1442 Hijrah.
A special forum in conjunction with Ma’al 1442 Hijrah celebration from Raya Hall of Radio Television Brunei (RTB) will also be broadcast on August 20 at 10.30am via RTB channel Perdana, RTB Sukmaindera, RTB Golive, Nasional FM and Nur Islam.
The forum entitled ‘engukuhan Maqasid Syariah Dalam Pemerintahan Negara Dan Kepimpinan Ulul Amri’ will be chaired by member of Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, with panellists comprising Permanent Secretary (Economy) at Ministry of Finance and Economy Dr Hajah May Faezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at Ministry of Education Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Assistant Mufti (Buhuth) at the State Mufti’s Office Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof and Adjunct Professor at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos.
